The Practical Dev Blog Newsletter
I am a regular developer as most of you reading this. I have some tech skills at a fairly decent level, some skills I still need to master more, and much more stuff I don’t know about.
In this newsletter, I will gladly share with you something from a ‘decent level’ skillset of mine plus newly learned ones by giving you a fresh learner perspective answering most awkward newbie questions.
My motivation behind this
I believe that learning can be divided into three levels of depth, the first is achieved by reading about it or watching a video tutorial.
This first level is the easiest, you don’t spend that much time, and you get a high-level overview, this knowledge is also lost pretty quickly without any further practice.
The second level is harder, you need to apply this to practice: open your IDE, code it, and play with it on the way. Now if somebody asks you about what you’ve learned you can give insights on how to avoid pitfalls.
And to retain that knowledge you are talking about it reaching the last and third level of depth.
Here I am pursuing my interest of learning something to the best of my ability by showing you the practical way of how to reach the second level straight away. Also, seeing that dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people consume your content and are happy about it is the best motivation to keep going.
